Israeli occupation forces prevent performing Eid prayers in occupied Quds

OCCUPIED QUDS, March 20 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces closed on Friday the Jib military checkpoint northwest of occupied Quds (Jerusalem), preventing hundreds of citizens from reaching mosques to perform Eid prayers, in a move Palestinians considered an additional restriction on freedom of worship.

The occupation forces fired tear gas canisters at Jerusalemites in several streets of occupied Quds.

Israeli occupation forces also arrested Sheikh Fadi al-Jabreeni, the imam of the al-Da’wa Mosque in the town of Beit Hanina, north of Quds, at dawn today, after raiding and searching his home.

This escalation comes at a time when it was supposed to be an atmosphere of joy and tranquility, but the occupation’s strict military measures turned it into a day burdened with restrictions and violations, in continuation of the policy of tightening restrictions that affects various aspects of Palestinian life, even on the most private religious occasions.
