MAHRA, March 17 (YPA) – The Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan” forces raided the residence of Brigadier General Mohsen Mersa’ al-Kazmi, the former commander of the Al-Ghaidha Axis, in the capital of Mahra province in east of Yemen, on Tuesday.
According to a local source, units from the “Dera Al-Watan” and Special Forces, supported by military vehicles, established a security cordon around the house before conducting the raid.
Forces confiscated a “Ford” military vehicle from the courtyard and a cache of weapons found in the basement.
The official motives behind the operation remain undisclosed, and the current whereabouts or fate of Al-Kazmi are still unknown.
The former Governor of Mahra, Rajeh Bakrit, condemned the incident, describing it as an “ethically unacceptable act” and framing the raid as a case of “settling narrow personal scores.”
Mersa’ is a prominent figure aligned with the Southern Transitional Council (STC). He is noted for facilitating the entry of UAE-backed factions into Mahra last December following their expansion into the Hadramout Valley.
