BEIRUT, March 11 (YPA) – Hezbollah announced early Tuesday that it thwarted an Israeli occupation aerial landing attempt in the outskirts of “Nabi Chit” in the Bekaa Valley, eastern Lebanon.
This marks the second such operation the Hezbollah states to have intercepted in the same region within 48 hours.
According to a statement by the Hezbollah, approximately 15 military helicopters were tracked arriving from the direction of Syria, overflying several villages in the Eastern Mountain Range, including Janta, Arsal, and Ras Baalbek.
The statement noted that Israeli infantry forces landed in the “Serghaya Plain” and attempted to advance toward Lebanese territory, where they were engaged by Hezbollah fighters using “appropriate weapons.”
Resistance sources reported that an Israeli helicopter was struck during the confrontation.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) confirmed that violent clashes broke out in the Nabi Chit highlands, amid intensive overflights by Israeli fighter jets and reconnaissance drones across the area.
