Senior Sanaa official slams Saudi policies, costly Yemen involvement

SANAA, March 05 (YPA) – Member of the political bureau of Ansarallah, Mohammed Al-Farah, sharply criticized on Wednesday Saudi Arabia’s political and economic direction, questioning the kingdom’s regional alliances and military strategy.

Al-Farah accused Riyadh of pursuing what he described as policies of dependency and weakness rather than building self-reliant strength.

He also alleged that Saudi Arabia had wasted significant financial resources in Yemen on forces he referred to as “mercenaries,” claiming the expenditures had produced no meaningful results.

In remarks posted on X, Al-Farah used sarcastic language to question the outcomes of Saudi-backed efforts, suggesting that the investments had failed to achieve strategic gains.

He further argued that funds spent on the Yemen conflict could have been directed toward domestic industrial development, including weapons manufacturing and large-scale civilian industries.

Al-Farah concluded by asserting that Saudi Arabia’s involvement had resulted in losses and reputational damage, according to his assessment.
