BEIRUT, March 05 (YPA) – Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem affirmed the party’s commitment to “confrontation to the furthest extent without surrender.”
In a televised address on Wednesday evening, Sheikh Qassem framed the resistance’s weaponry as a legitimate right for defending Lebanon’s existence against what he described as “Israeli-American aggression.”
Qassem stated that the party had granted diplomatic efforts a 15-month window without results. He accused “Israel” of failing to adhere to any agreements with the Lebanese state, asserting that “patience has its limits” following previous periods of self-restraint.
He reported over 10,000 Israeli violations over the past 15 months, resulting in 500 fatalities. He noted that Hezbollah’s recent rocket barrages were a direct response to these breaches.
On the internal affairs, the Secretary-General criticized Lebanese government decisions issued last August, claiming they weakened the state’s position. He called for bolstering national unity and prioritizing the confrontation over internal disputes.
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the military objective is to defend the Lebanese people, halt the aggression, and force the Israeli occupation to withdraw. He concluded that attempts to drive a wedge between the resistance and its support base have failed.
