Russia calls for exclusion of America, Israel from international tournaments

MOSCOW, March. 04 (YPA) – The honorary president of the Russian Football Union, Vyacheslav Koloskov, called on FIFA to suspend the national teams of the United States and Israel from participating in international tournaments.

Koloskov pointed out that there is a precedent for suspension, citing previous sanctions imposed on Russian national teams and clubs, and considered what is happening now to be a blatant violation of the UN Charter and international rules.

He also noted the silence of other football federations regarding the developments, describing it as clear evidence of what he called double standards.

On February 28, the United States and Israel announced the launch of a military operation against Iran targeting sites belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, including command centers, air bases, drone launch pads, and air defense systems.
