Spain bars use of its bases for attacks on Iran as UK reverses position

MADRID, March 02 (YPA) – Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares affirmed that Spain will not permit the use of its joint military bases with Washington for any attacks against Iran.

This stance follows reports of significant US military aircraft activity departing southern Spain for Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

While Madrid maintained its condemnation of the strikes, the UK shifted its initial refusal, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer announcing that British bases may now be used under the pretext of “collective self-defense.”
