DAMASCUS, Feb. 23 (YPA) – An Israeli military patrol entered, on Sunday, the village of Saida al-Hanout in the southern Quneitra countryside, in a new escalation and violation inside Syrian territory since the beginning of February, amid repeated accusations of violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Syrian media reported that the patrol, consisting of three military vehicles, advanced into the outskirts of the village before withdrawing later. This comes at a time when the Quneitra and Daraa countrysides are witnessing intense ground movements and aerial activity, described as part of a recurring escalation pattern in recent weeks.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 41 Israeli incursions into Syrian territory have been recorded since the beginning of the month, including repeated ground incursions, arrests of civilians, the bulldozing of agricultural areas, and the establishment of temporary military checkpoints at some points near the Disengagement Line.
Field data indicates that these movements have directly impacted the lives of local residents, particularly shepherds and farmers in villages adjacent to the separation line.
