Iranian President: We will not submit to logic of force and any aggression will be met with decisive response

TEHRAN, Feb. 19 (YPA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that his country does not seek war, but at the same time, it will not submit to the logic of force or accept a policy of dictates, stressing that Iran is prepared to defend its sovereignty and interests by all available means.

In official statements, Pezeshkian said that Tehran prefers political solutions and dialogue based on mutual respect, but that military threats and continuous pressure will not force it to back down from its legitimate rights, emphasizing that the policy of intimidation will not achieve its goals in the face of the resilience of the Iranian people.

He added that his country has faced various forms of sanctions and pressure over the past years, but has managed to strengthen its defense and economic capabilities, and that any attempt to impose a reality by force will be met with a response commensurate with the magnitude of the challenge, in a clear reference to Iranian military readiness amid escalating regional tensions.

The Iranian president’s statements come amid the continued US military buildup in the region and escalating rhetoric, amid warnings that any military adventure could ignite a wide-ranging confrontation that extends beyond Iran’s borders to affect the security and stability of the entire Middle East.

Pezeshkian emphasized that regional security is not achieved through foreign bases or military displays, but rather through regional understandings based on respect for the sovereignty of states.

He stressed that Iran will not relinquish its rights to develop its peaceful nuclear program within the framework of international law and that it will not accept any agreement built on threats or blackmail, noting that past experiences have proven that reliance on force has not brought stability to anyone.

The Iranian president reiterated that his country is not seeking confrontation, but will not allow new equations to be imposed at the expense of its sovereignty, warning that the continuation of the policy of pressure and escalation will lead the region to a more dangerous stage where all options will be open to Tehran to defend its security and interests.
