Zionist forces violate Gaza ceasefire for 118th consecutive day

GAZA, Feb. 05 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement for the 118th consecutive day across various areas of the Gaza Strip.

At dawn today, a girl was injured by Israeli gunfire inside her tent near Abu Hamid Roundabout in central Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Israeli naval boats also opened fire toward the shore of Khan Younis, while the occupation army carried out demolitions of buildings in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes targeting areas of Israeli military deployment northeast of Gaza City, as well as additional airstrikes on areas east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

At least 24 people, including children, were killed in Israeli air and artillery strikes. The escalation followed an Israeli military claim that one of its officers had been wounded by Palestinian gunfire. Hamas described the claim as a pretext to justify continued attacks against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In a related development, Gaza’s Government Media Office said Israeli forces had committed 1,520 violations of the ceasefire agreement since it took effect on October 10, killing 556 Palestinians and injuring 1,500 others.

On Wednesday, Gaza’s Health Ministry said 54 bodies and 66 containers of human remains arrived at Al-Shifa Hospital after being handed over by Israeli occupation and transferred by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
