Dust wave sweeps Yemen areas amid meteorological warnings

SANAA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology issued a warning on Tuesday urging citizens in desert areas, interior plateaus, mountainous highlands, as well as the southern and eastern coastal regions to take precautions against dusty conditions.

In its weather bulletin, the center cautioned residents of the mountainous highlands and interior plateaus, as well as travelers heading to these areas, of low temperatures during nighttime and early morning hours due to cold conditions.

It also warned fishermen and sea-goers in the southern Red Sea coast, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the western Gulf of Aden of rough sea conditions and high waves caused by increased wind activity.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast, the mountainous highlands were expected to experience clear to cold conditions at night and early morning, with a possibility of fog formation in some areas and scattered low-level cumulus clouds during the day, accompanied by light dust.

In coastal areas, relatively dusty weather was expected along the eastern coasts, with suspended dust affecting parts of the southern and western coasts.

Meanwhile, the Socotra Archipelago is forecast to experience partly cloudy conditions, with a chance of light and scattered rainfall.

Winds will be active along the southern western coast, Bab al-Mandab, and the western Gulf of Aden, reaching speeds of up to 26 knots.

For desert regions, the center forecast generally clear but dusty conditions, with temperatures tending toward cool to relatively cool during the night and early morning hours.
