USS Abraham Lincoln deployed as US boosts military presence in Middle East

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 (YPA) – The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the Middle East.

In a statement accompanied by photos published on its official account on the X platform, the CENTCOM said the carrier’s crew was conducting routine maintenance operations while sailing in the Indian Ocean on January 26.

The statement added that the deployment was intended to support what it described as regional security and stability.

The announcement came amid international media reports about potential US military movements and preparations for a new escalation against Iran, lending the deployment strategic significance beyond its officially stated routine purpose.
