GAZA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has reiterated its commitment to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, as Israel continues to violate its terms in an ongoing attempt to derail the deal and hinder the work of the national committee, in violation of US-backed arrangements and guarantees.
In a statement released on Thursday, Hamas reported that since the ceasefire’s implementation in October 2025, Israeli forces have killed approximately 484 Palestinians and injured 1,297 others, all while facing no real international pressure to halt the ongoing violations.
Hamas also criticized participants at the Davos Forum for failing to highlight Israel’s continuous crimes in Gaza, which actively undermine international efforts to uphold the ceasefire, open crossings, facilitate the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and launch reconstruction. Instead, Hamas noted, some parties have chosen to threaten the Palestinian side, which remains committed to the agreement.
The Movement called on the Peace Council to take responsibility for stopping Israel’s breaches and to ensure that the occupation abides by its obligations, including allowing aid and shelter supplies into Gaza, and initiating relief and reconstruction efforts to protect the Palestinian people from the worsening humanitarian crisis, particularly amid waves of heavy rain and severe cold affecting the besieged Strip.
