SANAA, Jan. 22 (YPA) -The Agricultural and Fisheries Cooperative Media reported today that the Melhan Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative in Mahwit Governorate has launched the marketing of 9 tons of turmeric in the capital, Sanaa.
The Marketing and Contract Farming Department of the Agricultural Cooperative Union initiated the sale of the first batch, as part of a strategy to enable farmers to market their products efficiently.

The Union provides full support to cooperatives and farmers, encouraging continued agricultural activity and the expansion of turmeric cultivation as a key cash crop, the media said.
This marketing initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agricultural development and achieve self-sufficiency in high-value crops, according to the media.
The cooperative media emphasized that the success of this initiative and the development of the local spices sector relies on the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders, supporting Yemeni farmers and modernizing agricultural marketing to ensure both profitable returns for producers and high-quality products for consumers.
