Saudi military delegation targeted by roadside explosive devices in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 14 (YPA) –  A Saudi military delegation was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Monday evening while passing through the Al-Abr area in Hadramout Governorate, eastern Yemen, military and media sources affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition reported.

According to  military sources, the attack was carried out by using a series of high-explosive improvised devices planted along the international road connecting Al-Abr to the Al-Wadea border crossing.

The sources confirmed that the explosions occurred as the convoy was passing, causing casualties among the accompanying forces and damaging several armored military vehicles.

Following the incident, the coalition forces imposed a tight security cordon around the area and launched extensive sweeps in surrounding areas to track down individuals responsible for planting the explosives.

Multiple ambulances were seen rushing victims to nearby hospitals amid a heightened security state of alert across the Wadi and Desert districts of Hadramout.
