“Israel”, “Somaliland” move toward strategic Red Sea security pact: Reports

OCCUPIED QUDS, Jan. 12 (YPA) – The Hebrew newspaper ‘Yedioth Ahronoth’ has published a report indicating that “Israel” and the breakaway region of “Somaliland” are close to signing a security and economic agreement.

According to the report, the deal would include the establishment of an Israeli military base on the Somali coast overlooking the Red Sea.

The prospective agreement involves an Israeli military foothold on the region’s coast to secure strategic interests.

Bashir Goth, the head of the Somaliland mission in Washington, confirmed discussions regarding this matter, noting “Israel’s” direct interest in strengthening its presence in the Red Sea region.

Reports suggest that the Israeli move is driven by strategic and security motives linked to regional developments and maritime navigation.

Sources indicated that regional parties, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), are supporting this diplomatic and security track.

Somaliland has been seeking international recognition since declaring its independence from Somalia in 1991, viewing security agreements with international powers as a means to bolster its political standing.
