Russian report warns Yemen against implications of Israeli recognition of “Somaliland”

MOSCOW, Jan. 10 (YPA) – A report published by the Russian news website edinstvo-news has revealed accelerating Israeli movements in the Horn of Africa.

The report emphasized that Israel’s recent official recognition of “Somaliland’s” independence is not merely a diplomatic gesture, but rather a legal cover for a permanent military and intelligence presence directly facing the Yemeni coastline.

The report characterized the visit of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar to the Port of Berbera, including his detailed inspection of its infrastructure, as the groundwork for an operational launchpad.

Establishing a presence in Berbera provides “Israel” with a strategic foothold to control the Gulf of Aden and secure maritime navigation in the Red Sea.

Military experts suggest the port is positioned to become a new strategic hub for managing the conflict with Yemen and neutralizing maritime threats.

The report concluded by warning that the timeframe for implementing these plans may be very tight, given the rapid pace of regional escalation and the transformation of the port into a new center of gravity in the ongoing conflict.
