Sanaa Parliament extends “salary support law”; mandates government to address status of volunteer educators
SANAA, Jan. 07 (YPA) – The Presidency of the House of Representatives in Sanaa on Wednesday approved the government’s request to extend the implementation of Law No. (2) of 1446 AH.
This legislation pertains to the temporary exceptional mechanism designed to support the state employees’ salary bill and resolve the issues facing small depositors.
This approval followed a formal commitment from the relevant government authorities—represented by the Ministers of Finance, Civil Service, and Administrative Development—to implement the recommendations and observations raised by the House Presidency and the chairs and rapporteurs of the standing committees. These mandates include:
- Financial Transparency: Providing the Parliament with a detailed report on the revenues and expenditures related to the implementation of the temporary exceptional mechanism for salary support.
- Protection of Retirement Rights: Ensuring that no state employee is referred to retirement until all their functional and insurance rights are fully met, and their salaries are paid on a continuous basis.
- Small Depositors: Completing the resolution of the small depositors’ grievances in accordance with the provisions of the Exceptional Mechanism Law.
- Volunteer Educators: Regularizing the status of male and female volunteer educators who have served in the field and contributed effectively to the continuity of the educational process since the start of the conflict, ensuring the payment of their financial entitlements.
