SHABWA, Jan. 03 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia is moving to expand its military operation, launched in Hadramout governorate against the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces, to include the occupied Shabwa governorate.
This is part of a broader effort to end the UAE’s role as an ally in the occupation of southern and eastern Yemen.
This move comes after the so-called spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, Turki al-Maliki, welcomed the statement by the governor of Shabwa, who declared his support for the so-called “coalition” and his readiness to work with it to secure the governorate.
Al-Maliki affirmed the coalition’s commitment to supporting the security and stability of Shabwa and protecting the forces stationed there, emphasizing that no forces would enter the governorate without coordination with the local authority, which reflects on-the-ground arrangements for a new military phase in Shabwa.
