Abdulsalam: There is no justification for keeping Sanaa Airport closed

SANAA, Jan. 02 (YPA) – The head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, said there is no justification for keeping Sanaa Airport closed to air traffic, describing the blockade of Yemen’s airports and ports as collective punishment of the Yemeni people.

In a statement marking the beginning of 2026, Abdulsalam explained that “While the Yemeni people participate in the ongoing support operations, they have not forgotten their internal struggle, legitimate rights, or the consequences of Saudi aggression and blockade.”

He noted that the end of the coalition, leaving Saudi Arabia alone at the forefront, was a major shift last year, adding that the bet on the continuation of aggression and blockade has failed and will only bring more losses.

“There is an opportunity for those who act wisely to address various issues caused by Saudi-American aggression against Yemen,” Abdulsalam said.

He added that the past year was full of major challenges and sacrifices, noting that the Ummah faces new challenges and opportunities, especially on the Palestine front, which continues to confront Israeli enemy on multiple fronts.

Abdulsalam stressed that any weakness before the Israeli enemy and the US constitutes a definite loss in this world and the Hereafter.
