Hamas calls for absentee funeral prayer for martyred Al-Qassam commanders on Friday

GAZA, Jan. 02 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic nations worldwide to perform the absentee funeral prayer for the martyred commanders of the Al-Qassam Brigades.

In its statement, Hamas  said it is “in honor of their jihad and sacrifices, and in appreciation of their role in defending the blessed land of Palestine, particularly Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

The commanders are as follows:

-Mohammad al-Sinwar, Al-Qassam’s Chief of Staff,

-Mohammed Shabana, Rafah Brigade Commander,

-Hakam al-Eissa, Commander of the Weapons and Combat Services,

-Raed Saad, Commander of the Military Manufacturing,

-Huthaifa al-Kahlout (Abu Obaida), Former spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades.

The absentee funeral prayer is scheduled to be held after the Friday prayer on January 2, 2026, in all mosques and Islamic centers across Palestine and worldwide.
