Israeli occupation forces detain 28 Palestinians in raids across West Bank

WEST BANK, Jan. 01 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces detained 28 Palestinians at dawn on Thursday during a series of raids across multiple areas in the occupied West Bank, local Palestinian sources said.

According to the sources, Israeli occupation raided the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, where they arrested one resident, and detained another young man during a raid in Dura, southwest of the city.

The occupation Forces also raided Yatta, east of Hebron, and arrested a Palestinian from his home after searching it.

In Nablus, the occupation arrested a young man following a raid on Old Askar Refugee Camp, and another from Yasmina quarter in the Old City.

The occupation forces also detained a man and his son after searching their home near the National Hospital in central Nablus.

Three young men were arrested in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate during raids on Al-Jalazone and Al-Amari refugee camps and nearby towns, the sources added.

The occupation forces re-arrested a former prisoner after storming his family home in the village of Aroura, north of Ramallah, and detained another former prisoner in Beitunia, west of the city.

The sources reported that Zionist soldiers blew up  the door of a Palestinian home, assaulted one detainee, fired a gas canister inside the house, and allegedly abused his brother during the arrest operation.

Two Palestinians were arrested in Abu Shkheidem village and another in Kober, north of Ramallah, after raids on their homes. The arrests also included nine residents from Al-Jalazone camp.

Elsewhere, the occupation forces detained a young man in Rantis, west of Ramallah, another in the city of Tubas, and a young man from Tammoun, south of Tubas, in addition to two more following raids in the city.

Raids and arrests were also reported in Kober town and Al-Fawwar Refugee Camp south of Hebron. In Qalandiya Refugee Camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, undercover units entered the camp before military reinforcements arrived.

Meanwhile, the occupation forced a Palestinian family out of its home during a raid on Al-Hajja Afifa Street in Nablus, coinciding with an incursion into the area around the National Government Hospital.
