DEMASCUS, Dec. 24 (YPA) – The Syrian Democratic Observatory reported that “Public Security” militias, linked to the Damascus-based authorities, stormed the villages of Baabda and Dweir Baabda in rural Jableh on Wednesday morning.
The raid was reportedly conducted under the pretext of searching for a wanted individual from the Alawite community.
Forces opened fire randomly within the villages, deployed RPGs toward forested areas, and threw grenades near residential homes.
The violence occurred as students were leaving school, causing widespread panic among residents.
In a related incident on Tuesday, two brothers—Hussein and Mohsen Ahmed Salloum—were killed by security forces at a farm in the village of Beisin, located in the Ghab Plain, Hama countryside.
These events highlight a rising trend of security violations against civilians, prompting calls from human rights organizations for immediate accountability and an end to the aggression.
