Aden government warns UAE against compromising Yemen unity

ADEN, Dec. 23 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister of the Aden-based government, backed by the Saudi-led coalition, Mustafa al-Numan, warned on Monday of the repercussions of what he described as the UAE plans” in Yemen.

In a statement, he pointed out that the continuation of these policies could push towards the formation of a broad national alliance to defend the unity of the country.

Al-Numan told Al-Arabiya TV that there was a possible trend of rapprochement between the unitary forces within the camp of legitimacy and the government of Sanaa, in the event of escalating threats targeting the unity and sovereignty of Yemen.

He stressed that preserving the unity of the country is a national priority that cannot be compromised, no matter how acute the political differences.

These statements were an indication of an indirect warning message sent to the UAE, in light of the growing differences within the coalition over the future of Yemen and its political arrangements.
