BERLIN, Dec. 21 (YPA) – The German capital, Berlin, witnessed, on Saturday, a march in support of Palestine, condemning the genocide committed by “Israel” in Gaza and German support for Tel Aviv.
Media outlets reported that hundreds of supporters of Palestine gathered in Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg district, chanting anti-Israel slogans, and then marched towards the Neukölln town hall.
The demonstrators in solidarity with Palestine protested against the German government’s supply of weapons to Israel and against the genocide committed by Israeli forces in Gaza.
The protesters demanded that the perpetrators of war crimes be brought to justice and chanted slogans including “Stop the genocide,” “Israel is a terrorist state,” “Children want to live, and Israel and Germany oppose it.”
During the demonstration, participants raised Palestinian flags and banners with slogans such as “Human dignity is inviolable,” “Gaza is the last stronghold of international resistance against injustice,” “Germany is a country of deniers and accomplices in crime,” and “Freedom for Palestinian prisoners.”
Videos documented clashes between a journalist and German police officers while he was covering the march then the footage showed a photojournalist being pushed and prevented from doing his job.
It is noteworthy that police also imposed strict security measures during the demonstration and arrested one person.
