SHABWA, Dec. 12 (YPA) – At least three recruits were killed and four others injured on among the ranks of the UAE-backed “Shabwa Defense Force” factions, due to a drone attack launched by Islah Party elements against the Arin camp in Shabwa governorate, southeastern Yemen.
A local source stated that drones belonging to Islah party factions targeted a gathering of “Shabwa Defense” elements near the Arin well in the Armaa district. The surprise attack resulted in the killing of three recruits and the injury of four others as an initial toll, including two killed and two wounded from the Al-Yubi tribe.
This attack comes one week after the “Shabwa Defense” factions took control of the camp and pushed Islah party elements towards Marib governorate. It also follows a similar drone attack on other pro-UAE positions in the Al-Musayna’a area last Wednesday.
It is worth noting that Al-Qaeda elements, allied with the Islah Party, continue to launch repeated attacks on pro-UAE positions in Abyan and Shabwa governorates since those factions took control of the Ataq axis camps loyal to the party following bloody confrontations in August 2022.
