SANAA, Dec. 12 (YPA)-The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning (NCMEW) forecasted cold weather in the mountainous highlands during the next 24 hours.
The Center explained in its weather bulletin that the weather in the mountainous highlands will be cold during the night and early morning, especially the highlands of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, Dhalea, and northern Ibb.
It pointed out that the weather will be relatively cold in the highlands of Jawf, Marib, Hadramout, Shabwa, Dhalea, Taiz, Raymah, Mahwit, and Hajjah.
Meanwhile, cumulus clouds are expected to form, which may be accompanied by scattered rainfall over parts of the western mountain range during the afternoon and evening periods.
The Center stated that the weather in the coastal areas will be clear to partly cloudy with a possibility of light rainfall on the eastern and southern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago.
Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally strengthening over the south of the western coast and the Bab al-Mandab entrance, reaching a maximum speed of 30 knots, causing sea disturbance and high waves.
In the desert areas, the weather will be clear and relatively cold during the night and early morning. Winds will be light to moderate in speed, occasionally intensifying, stirring up dust and sand.
The center warned residents of the mountainous highlands about the cold weather, especially the elderly, children, the sick, and workers during the night and early morning.
It advised seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains south of the western coast and Bab al-Mandab against sea disturbance and high waves.
