Sana’a begins protection measures for national industry

SANAA, Dec. 09 (YPA) – The Minister of Finance of Sana’a government, Abdul Jabbar Ahmed stated that Sana’a has begun implementing measures to protect domestic industry from dumping and unfair competition from foreign imports.

In a press statement, the Finance Minister explained that Sana’a government has effective programs to protect local products from market dumping by imports.

He pointed out that the new investment law guarantees the protection and encouragement of local products, stimulates exports, and grants privileges and incentives for the first time in Yemen’s history.

He confirmed that the first joint decision to protect local production was issued under the new investment law in the middle of this year, explaining that all goods targeted for protection in the joint decision are manufactured locally to meet market needs, and that they have begun restricting imports before banning them.
