Urgent weather warnings issued as heavy rainfall hits Sanaa, multiple governorates

SANAA, Oct. 25 (YPA) -Sanaa and several governorates experienced varying intensities of thunderstorms accompanied by active winds on Sunday, prompting urgent warnings to citizens from the Meteorology and Early Warning Center.

According to the center’s weather bulletin, rainfall is expected across parts of Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Rayma, Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran, Mahweet, Hajjah, and Saada, alongside the Tihama plain and the western coast. Scattered showers are also anticipated in parts of Jawf, Marib, Lahj, Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa, and the southern coasts.

The Meteorology and Early Warning Center warned citizens against being present in valley channels and stream beds during and after rainfall, urging adherence to thunderstorm safety measures. It further cautioned against reduced horizontal visibility on mountain roads due to fog and low clouds, as well as the risk of rock and mudslides.
