Saudi war crime on border prompts Sanaa to call for int’l investigation

SANAA, Nov. 22 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based National Human Rights Authority strongly condemned on Saturday the attack by the Saudi forces on Al Sheikh area in the border district of Munabih in Saada province, which led to the killing of a Yemeni citizen and the injury of another, in addition to the injury of six African migrants.

In a statement, the authority clarified the heinous attack came within a series of systematic and continuous violations committed by Saudi forces against civilians, especially African migrants passing through the border areas.

The statement that this crime reflected a blatant disregard for international humanitarian law and all conventions that prohibit targeting civilians and civilian objects, or endangering their lives under any circumstances.

It held the United Nations, the Security and Human Rights Councils, and the entire international community, legally and morally responsible for their shameful silence regarding the daily killing and brutal targeting of civilians in Saada province.

The statement called for serious and immediate international action to stop these repeated crimes and put a definitive end to the violations that threaten the lives of civilians and migrants alike.
