MECCA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – At least 45 people were killed when a bus carrying Indian Muslim pilgrims collided with a tanker in the Saudi Arabian city of Medina on Monday.
Indian media reported that a bus carrying Indian pilgrims traveling from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker on the highway.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar told reporters, “The tragic bus accident involving Indian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia is extremely painful.”
He added, “The initial estimate is that there were 46 passengers on the bus, and only one person survived the horrific accident.”
It was reported that the majority of the victims belonged to two families, and many died at the scene as a result of the fire.
