Senior official gets abducted by UAE-backed elements in Al-Khokha

HODEIDA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Senior Tihami Movement leader, Mohammed Yahya al-Mandai, keeps forcibly abducted for the second straight day inside the prison of Abu Musa al-Ash’ari camp belonging to the leader “Tariq Saleh”, in the city of Al-Khokha, south of Hodeida.

Samir “Al-Mandai”, the son of the kidnapped leader, confirmed in a post on Facebook on Sunday that his father was kidnapped without any legal charges, amid fears for his life due to his deteriorating health condition.

He explained that his father suffers from serious chronic diseases including heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, noting that he was unable to communicate with his father, who was denied access to his basic treatment, which directly threatens his life.

Al-Mandai held the UAE-backed leaders Ammar and Tariq Saleh, known as Afash, the sons of the brother of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, fully responsible for his father’s life, noting that his arrest was carried out by “elements he described as tools of Afash from the sons of Tihama.”

Al-Mandai was abducted after being summoned from Aden due to his public criticism of the leaders of the factions loyal to Tariq Afash in the Tihama region.

This prompted a Tihami leader close to Tariq to arrest him and hand him over to the jailers of Ammar Afash.

The abduction of Al-Mandai, a prominent figure in the Tihama Movement, which opposes injustice and violations against the people of Tihama, has become an indicator of escalating tensions in the areas controlled by Tariq Saleh’s forces.
