Trump puts F-35 fighter jet sale to Saudi Arabia on table amid tech leak concerns

WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump revealed that the United States is “considering” a request from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to purchase a large number of advanced F-35 fighter jets, in addition to other fighter aircraft.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump confirmed that the potential sale is on the agenda for his upcoming meeting next week at the White House with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Trump’s statement comes amid mounting fears from some US intelligence agencies—as reported by The New York Times—that the advanced aircraft technology could potentially be compromised or leak to China.

Trump expressed hope that Saudi Arabia would join the “Abraham Accords,” although Riyadh maintains that any move toward normalization is contingent on providing a clear path toward establishing a Palestinian state.
