Political activist ‘Al-Hassani’ reveals details of his arrest in India

SANAA, Nov. 13 (YPA) – The political activist and former leader in the “Southern Resistance,” Adel Al-Hassani, revealed on Wednesday the truth behind reports circulated by media outlets regarding his “kidnapping” by Interpol in India.

Al-Hassani confirmed that he was detained and held at New Delhi Airport for half a day.

In his first public appearance, Al-Hassani asserted that the Indian authorities detained him at the airport based on a “circular and tip-off” submitted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

These details put an end to the speculation published by the Saudi-led coalition-affiliated media, which had claimed over the past two days that Al-Hassani, known for his opposition to the Emirati and Saudi presence in Yemen, had been “kidnapped” by Interpol and taken to the UAE.

Adel Al-Hassani is considered a prominent opposition figure against the coalition’s policies in Yemen’s southern governorates and has previously disclosed sensitive issues related to the conflict.
