STC militants break into children’s school in Dhalea

DHALEA, Nov. 13 (YPA)- The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militants stormed on Wednesday a school in the Hajar district of Dhalea province, south of Yemen.

Local sources described the act as “terrorist” targeting the educational process and terrorizing innocent children.

The sources confirmed that the attack was carried out by armed men the so-called “Sixth Infantry Brigade,” led by Abdullah Qasim, on a children’s school in the village of Asqa in the Lakmat al-Duki area.

The attack, which occurred in a military vehicle, also caused panic and terror among the students and teachers in the classrooms, and residents of the area, who condemned the incident as an act of terrorism against students and education.

The sources explained that Qasim threatened to close the school following an “initially problematic incident”, without elaborating on the justification for the attack.

They added that the incident was not limited to assault, threats, and intimidation, but also included the use of insults and profanities against the female teachers that were objected to barbaric behavior, which had frightened the students.

Residents and community leaders also called on the relevant authorities to take legal action against, Abdullah Qasim. They emphasized the need to restore the dignity of the affected students and teachers and to guarantee the sanctity of educational institutions against any future attacks.
