SANAA, Nov. 13 (YPA) – Acting foreign minister in Sanaa, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met on Thursday with the deputy director of the office of the UN special envoy to Yemen, Mohamed Abou Jahjah.
In the meeting, Abu Ras handed Abou Jahjah a letter to the UN special envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, regarding the necessary steps to address the humanitarian crisis.
The acting foreign minister stressed the necessity for the UN Envoy to fulfill his role in advancing the peace process and implementing the roadmap without delay, with a particular focus on humanitarian needs.
Abu Ras reiterated the Sanaa government would be ready to the envoy’s efforts to end the aggression and lift the blockade imposed on Yemen, emphasizing the commitment to achieving a comprehensive and sustainable peace that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
For his part, the UN official briefed Abu Ras on the outcomes of Grundberg’s recent visits to several countries in the region and his meetings with the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council.
He reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to continuing its efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.
