SANAA, Nov. 03 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Ministry of Information and its affiliated institutions mourned on Monday the death of writer and journalist Khalil al-Omari, who died at the age of 57, after serving in the media field.
In a statement, the ministry praised the virtues of the late journalist Khalil al-Omari and his contributions to serving his country and society through his distinguished media career, in additional to his prominent role in positively addressing media and political issues related to Yemen.
The statement commended al-Omari’s high level of professionalism in his work as a program producer and a news reporter the Lebanon’s Al-Manar TV, as well as to his dedicated and responsible reporting on events in Yemen during the years of aggression and blockade.
It affirmed that Yemen has lost one of its most prominent media figures with the passing of al-Omari, a man who had a significant and influential presence on the national and Arab media scene.
The Ministry’s statement offered its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased, the Al-Omari family in general, and the Yemeni media community at large.
