Health Ministry in Gaza: Death toll from Israeli genocide rises to over 68,800, with 170,000 wounded

GAZA, Nov. 01 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip announced on Saturday a horrific rise in the death toll from the ongoing “Israeli genocide” in the Strip, stating that the total number of martyrs has reached 68,858 and the number of wounded has reached 170,664 since October 7, 2023.

The announcement came in its daily statistical report, which indicated that the past 48 hours saw the arrival of 22 martyrs (including 5 newly reported martyrs and 17 retrieved martyrs) and 9 wounded as a result of the Israeli aggression.

The ministry affirmed that a large number of victims “remain under the rubble and on the roads,” affirming that ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them until this moment.

Gaza’s health authorities also noted a surge in figures since the temporary ceasefire on (October 10, 2025), with the total number of martyrs since that date reaching 226, wounded reaching 594, and the total number of bodies retrieved reaching 499 martyrs.

In a related context, the ministry mentioned receiving 30 bodies of martyrs released by the Israeli occupation yesterday via the Red Cross, bringing the total number of received bodies to 225.

The report added that 193 martyrs were added to the cumulative statistic after their data was completed and approved by the judicial committee overseeing the file of notifications and missing persons for the period between 24/10/2025 and 31/10/2025.
