Palestinian fisherman killed by Israeli gunfire off Deir al-Balah coast

GAZA, Sept.16 (YPA) – A Palestinian fisherman was killed by Israeli naval gunfire off the coast of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, on Tuesday.

 Palestinian sources reported that fisherman Wissam Barham al-Aqra was shot at by Israeli naval boats while working at sea off Deir al-Balah. His body was recovered on Wednesday morning.

 With al-Aqra’s killing, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire took effect on October 11 has risen to 1,375, while 4,686 have been injured and 831 bodies have been recovered.

 The overall death toll from the genocidal war waged by Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,789, with 174,798 Palestinians injured.
