Flagrant public rapprochement: Activist in “STC” boasts efforts to preserve Jewish antiquities in Aden
ABU DHABI, Oct. 25 (YPA) – Social media platforms witnessed a controversial public rapprochement on Saturday between a political activist in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and an Israeli journalist.
This comes within a context that observers describe as a “flagrant political rapprochement” between the STC and Israeli occupation entity.
Praising Al-Zubaidi’s Efforts and the Restoration of the “Jewish Cemetery”
The STC activist, ‘Hani Masoor’, who resides in Abu Dhabi, reviewed the efforts of the STC’s President, Aidarus al-Zubaidi, to preserve Jewish antiquities in the city of Aden, southern Yemen. This came in a direct comment on a post by Israeli journalist ‘Edy Cohen’.
Masoor pointed to Al-Zubaidi’s commitment to protecting the Jewish heritage in Aden, referencing his directives to restore the “Jewish Cemetery” in the city. He boasted about these directives, considering the preservation of the Jewish heritage and the restoration of the cemetery to be a “qualitative achievement credited to Al-Zubaidi.”
Describing ‘Cohen’ as “My Brother”
The activist Masoor described the Israeli journalist ‘Cohen’ as “my brother” in his response to Cohen’s post, which discussed allegations regarding “the Jews of Aden and their persecution by Arabs.”
Repeated Interaction and the Context of “Political Rapprochement”
This repeated public interaction between the STC activist and Israeli activists and journalists comes in the context of a “flagrant political rapprochement,” especially following Al-Zubaidi’s announcement of his readiness to normalize relations with “Israel” if the country were to be restored to its pre-May 1990 state before the Yemeni unification.
