Trump: “I will not allow Israel to annex West Bank”

WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump announced that he had pledged to Arab nations that “Israel will not annex the West Bank,” warning that any such step would cause “Israel” to lose all US support.

Trump’s statement to Time magazine, in which he asserted that the annexation “will never happen,” came just one day after the Israeli Knesset’s preliminary reading vote on a bill to impose full Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank.

In a quick reaction to contain the repercussions of Trump’s statements, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the recent Knesset vote was merely a “deliberate political provocation” by the opposition, accusing it of intentionally trying to “stir up discord” coinciding with the clear American warning.
