Israeli Knesset to vote today on bill to annex occupied West Bank

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Oct. 22 (YPA) – The Israeli Knesset (parliament) will vote on Wednesday on a bill to annex the occupied West Bank to Israel by imposing “Israeli sovereignty” over areas there.

According to the Israeli public radio, “Kan,” the head of the far-right “Noam” party, Avi Maoz, will be the one who will submit the bill for a vote.

If the bill is rejected today, it will not be able to be re-introduced to the Knesset for six months.

Last July, the Knesset approved a declaration calling for the imposition of “Israeli sovereignty” in the West Bank by a majority of 71 MKs.

The Knesset’s decision to support the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank was widely condemned internationally and considered a violation of international law and a step that severely undermines the possibility of implementing the two-state solution.
