Fuel crisis threatens Aden with “total darkness”

ADEN, Oct. 17 (YPA) – The Aden Electricity Administration warned on Friday of an imminent and complete collapse of the electricity service and the city plunging into total darkness, due to fuel depletion and the detention of crude oil tankers designated for the power generation stations.

The administration appealed to the Saudi-led coalition-allied “Presidential Leadership Council” and the government for “immediate intervention” to secure the arrival of the oil tankers held in the Ahwar district of Abyan province, noting the halt of crude oil pumping from “Safer” and “Al-Uqla” fields, and the depletion of fuel at the main “Petromasila” station.

This warning comes as power outages in Aden exceed 21 hours daily.
