On October 14 Revolution anniversary, Abyan residents protest demanding “expulsion of Saudi-led coalition”

ABYAN, Oct. 14 (YPA) – Hundreds of residents of Zinjbar city, the center of Abyan province (South Yemen), took to the streets on Tuesday in a large popular demonstration demanding the expulsion of the Saudi-led coalition forces from the province and the rest of the southern provinces.

The demonstration coincides with the 62nd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution. It was organized by the “Revolutionary Movement Council,” with participants marching through the streets chanting slogans hostile to the presence of foreign forces, most notably: “Out, out, O colonialism… No more coalition after today.”

The demonstrators considered the coalition, whose factions control the province, to be the other face of the old British colonialism that must be confronted. They attributed their demand to the “complete collapse of services and the unprecedented tragic living conditions” that the southern regions have reached as a result of the coalition’s control.
