Senior commander survives Taiz IED attack

TAIZ, Oct. 03 (YPA) – A military commander survives an IED attack in al-Shamayatayn district of Taiz on Thursday.

Local sources affirmed that armed elements targeted the commander of the Fourth Infantry Brigade, Abu Bakr al-Jabbouli, with an IED. He miraculously survived, while two of his companions sustained minor injuries.

In a related development, the armed security campaign succeeded in arresting Mukhtar al-Zariqi, the main suspect in the assassination of Mohammed Al-Rumaih, along with six other individuals who participated in the clashes.

According to the sources, the clashes followed accusations from a number of residents of the Al-Zariqa area of being behind the assassination of the deputy head of the security campaign, Mohammed Al-Rumaih, who was killed on Wednesday in the city of Al-Turbah, the district’s capital in Taiz province.
