Al-Qassam Brigades bombard occupation forces sites, destroy tank in Gaza with mortar shells

GAZA, Oct. 02 (YPA) – The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced, on Thursday, the destruction of a tank while confronting the Israeli occupation forces and pounding their positions in Gaza City with mortar shells.

In a military statement, the Brigades said: “After returning from the battle lines, our fighters confirmed the destruction of a Zionist Merkava tank with a highly explosive ground bomb, which led to a fire breaking out inside it, killing and wounding its crew on Al-Nasr Street, west of Gaza City, on 29-9-2025.”

In another statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced the destruction of an enemy command and control site north of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, with a number of mortar shells.

On Wednesday, Al-Qassam fighters were able to pound a gathering of soldiers and enemy vehicles at the Rosary Sisters School in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood, south of Gaza City, with a number of mortar shells.

In addition, Al-Qassam fighters also were able to shell the occupied city of Ashdod with a barrage of rockets in response to the targeting of civilians.

The resistance, led by the Al-Qassam Brigades, continues to confront the occupation forces on the axes of incursion, nearly two years after the “Israeli” war of extermination.
