ADEN, Oct. 02 (YPA) – A young man was fatally stabbed with a knife by his nephew in the Al-Mualla district in central Aden city, controlled by the Saudi-led coalition in southern Yemen.
The incident has renewed focus on the potential link between the rising proliferation of narcotics and hashish and the escalation of violence in the province.
Local sources reported that the victim , Emad Abu Muein, sustained multiple stab wounds from his relative on Wednesday evening, leading to his death immediately upon arrival at the hospital.
The accused was arrested immediately following the crime, and the actual motives for the incident remain under investigation.
Widespread accusations among locals suggest the assailant suffers from drug addiction, making substance abuse a likely direct cause of the incident.
This murder occurs amid growing warnings about the increasing flow of drugs into Aden. Activists describe this phenomenon as a “systematic crime” targeting young men and women, threatening the social fabric and public security, and leading to further moral decay, escalating homicide rates, and violent behavior.
