USA intends to sell new weapons to Israel worth six billion dollars

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – American media reported that the United States intends to sell new weapons to Israel worth six billion dollars.

They added that the proposed deal includes a $3.8 billion agreement to supply 30 AH-64 Apache helicopters.

It reported that “the US administration is seeking approval for a $1.9 billion deal to supply 3,250 attack vehicles to the Israeli army.”

In late July, the US Senate blocked two draft resolutions to ban arms sales to Israel, against the backdrop of the large numbers of civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip. However, the two draft resolutions received greater support than similar initiatives previously seen in Congress.

The draft resolutions were introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont, and the resolutions were defeated by a vote of 73 to 24 and 70 to 27 in the 100-member chamber.
