Israeli occupation army admits killing of lieutenant in Jabalia

GAZA, Sept. 09 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army acknowledged, on Tuesday, the death of a lieutenant in the Jabalia operation in the Gaza Strip yesterday.

This came after media, citing Israeli military sources, reported that four soldiers were killed yesterday when an explosive device detonated in a tank north of the Strip.

Israeli websites had previously reported that the four soldiers were killed in an operation carried out by the resistance in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip.

According to the Hadashot Bezaman website, the operation took place at approximately 5:00 a.m., when an explosive device was thrown at the crew of an Israeli tank, and then gunfire was directed at the tank commander.

The operation resulted in the tank catching fire and the deaths of all its crew members, according to the same website.

Israeli websites indicated that the operation came despite the state of maximum alert among Israeli forces, in preparation for implementing plans to invade and occupy Gaza City as part of Operation “Gideon Armor 2.”
