PIJ condemns Israeli airstrikes on Hamas leaders’ meeting in Doha
GAZA, Sept. 09 (YPA) – Palestine’s Islamic Jihad movement condemned on Tuesday the Zionist strikes on a meeting of Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha.
In a news statement, the movement considered the Israeli airstrikes a flagrant violation of all human values and international norms.
“The occupation did not even consider the presence of its official delegation in Doha for negotiations, which reflects its disregard for international law and the most basic rules of political norms,” the statement.
It added that the heinous attack confirmed the entity’s insistence on continuing its open genocidal war against the Palestinian people, and constituted a dangerous development that must not be tolerated.
The statement held the US administration directly responsible for the occupation’s rampant unchecked aggression, noting that the aggression came after the White House announced what it described as the “Trump proposal,” which it considered an indication of the political cover Washington had provided for the occupation’s crimes.
This position came amid the escalating Israeli aggression on Gaza and its repercussions extending to political and regional arenas, at a time when negotiations are experiencing a state of stagnation and tension.
